The BIG Thanks

As part of National Mentoring Month and ‘Thank Your Mentor Day’, BBBS of Central Texas celebrated with The BIG Thanks!, a special party for our volunteers – the Big Brothers and Big Sisters who make mentoring possible. Held at the Bennett-Rathgeber Mentoring Center on Sunday, January 21 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, the event also offered a time to recognize our Matches of the Year.

“What a fantastic afternoon we had yesterday seeing all the Bigs come and hang out at the Mentoring Center,” said Kedrick Jeffries, CEO. “From Bingo to the food, to the raffle, and the presence of Divine Canines… it was all perfect.  I truly think the volunteers who came really enjoyed their time here.”

There was a lot to enjoy as refreshments were provided, pups from Divine Canines were on hand for tail-wagging cuteness, and each volunteer received some BBBS swag. Guests also enjoyed a fun photobooth and a raffle drawing for prizes from local businesses.

The biggest crowd pleaser, however, was the Bingo game with our own CEO as host.  Bigs enjoyed rounds and rounds of the game all hoping for a chance to win some fun prizes.

The game was paused for a brief break to honor our Matches of the Year – Big Brother Mitch Holtz and Little Brother Jiovanni, Big Sister Macy Malechek and Little Sister Jon’Viave. CEO Kedrick Jeffries presented each with their award. He also recognized all the Bigs in the room and thanked them for their dedication to mentoring kids in Central Texas.

A BIG Thanks! to all our wonderful volunteers! We truly appreciate you.
